*BET is bringing a fresh twist to its iconic “106 & Park” legacy with the launch of “106 & Sports,” a dynamic new series set to debut on Wednesday, October 15.
Hosted by former NFLer Cam Newton and journalist Ashley Nicole Moss, the show promises a vibrant mix of sports, music, and entertainment. Produced by Fulwell Entertainment’s SpringHill, episodes will air weekly on BET and be available for streaming on BET+ the following day.
As Vibe reports, the network positions “106 & Sports” as a “fresh countdown highlighting sports, music, and entertainment like never before,” emphasizing its role as the “definitive home for culturally-driven sports commentary.” The series aims to capture the cultural resonance of its predecessor while carving out a new space for sports enthusiasts. The first half of the debut season includes 10 episodes, airing every Wednesday through December 17.
Newton expressed enthusiasm for the project, drawing parallels to the original show’s impact. “When I think about 106 & Park, I remember how it was a voice for the culture. It gave artists and fans a place to connect. Now, we’re doing the same thing for sports,” he said in a statement.
