*Anthony Anderson has publicly acknowledged his romantic partnership with television personality Rocsi Diaz after widespread speculation. The actor discussed the relationship during his appearance on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast, revealing details about how they became a couple.
Anderson characterized their union as spontaneous rather than calculated, noting that favorable timing brought them together. “It was something that just happened. We just happened to be in the same place at the same time, at the right time…in life,” he said, Complex reports.
Though they’ve maintained friendship for twenty years within overlapping social groups, Anderson dismissed suggestions of earlier attraction. While he found her appealing during her time on BET’s “106 & Park,” he never actively sought romance, explaining, “I watched 106 & Park like, ‘Oh, she a cutie,’ but never was like, ‘I got to get with that.'”
The “Black-ish” star highlighted substantial self-improvement preceding this relationship. Anderson spoke about deliberately restructuring his lifestyle priorities to accommodate a genuine romantic connection instead of career obsession. “At one point not too long ago, I sat back and thought about the relationship that I would like to have at this point in my life, and I realized that I was never going to have that if I was to continue doing what I was doing,” he explained.

“If this is what you want, these are the changes that you have to make. And uh, I made those changes. I believe you receive what you’re asking for. And I asked for this relationship with whomever it was going to be with, and once I cleared a path and a way for that to happen and to come in my life, it happened,” Anderson continued.
“And this is where I am right now,” he added. “It’s a beautiful thing.”
Public interest grew after the couple was seen holding hands during Golden Globes weekend. This new relationship comes after Anderson finalized his divorce from Alvina Stewart in 2023. Diaz is known for keeping her romantic life private, though her past relationships have included high-profile figures such as Eddie Murphy, Tyrese Gibson, and Amar’e Stoudemire.
