*Andy Cohen has spoken out following the arrest of “Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Wendy and Edward Osefo on multiple fraud charges.
On the Oct. 13 episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” the host said, “I want to say that like all of you, I found out about the charges against Wendy and Eddie Osefo on Friday morning and there’s not much that I can say.” He added, “I know nothing of the charges more than you guys do, than what I’ve read. I’m sad about this. I’m really sad about this.”
“I’m a Wendy fan and she has been a great housewife and a great role model,” Cohen continued. “She’s always led with education and her solid family values, and so I’m really thinking about her and her family and I’m certainly hoping that this is all some big nothing.”

As ABC News reports, the Osefos were arrested in Westminster, Maryland, on Oct. 9 and face 16 fraud charges. Authorities say the couple allegedly lied to police in April about having property stolen from their home during a vacation, claiming around 80 items, including jewelry, luxury goods, and clothing, were stolen, with an estimated value exceeding $200,000.
Investigators reportedly found inconsistencies in their story, noting no signs of forced entry, no disturbed furniture, and no movement detected by the home’s ADT system. Emails allegedly show Edward Osefo asking Wendy if they could add “additional high-value items we can add to this inventory listing (i.e., Chanel shoes, etc.),” saying, “I’m trying to get the total to exceed $423,000 which is our policy maximum.”
Deputies recovered at least 15 items reported stolen from the Osefos’ home, while police found that several other claimed items had already been returned to stores for full refunds before the alleged burglary.
Edward, 41, was indicted on nine counts of insurance fraud, eight conspiracy counts, and one false-statement charge. He could lose his D.C. law license if convicted. Wendy, 41, was indicted on seven counts of insurance fraud, eight conspiracy counts, and one false-statement charge. Each spent a night in jail following their arrest before posting $50,000 bond.
A representative stated, “Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits… They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues.”
They added, “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
