PEOPLE reports that Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground, is in discussions to produce the film. Meanwhile, “King Richard” director Reinaldo Marcus Green is being considered to helm the project.
Published in December 2024, “The Tiger Slam” is described as a “gripping, inside-the-ropes account of an astonishing streak of victories that left Woods’s rivals scrambling to keep up,” per a synopsis. The book includes testimony from “many of golf’s biggest names — Tiger’s caddie, his coach, his opponents, his idols and others, all offering fresh insight into the electrifying highs of his victories and the obstacles on and off the course that threatened his relentless pursuit of perfection.”
Higher Ground has produced several notable films and series, including “Rustin,” “Leave the World Behind,” and the documentary series “Our Oceans” and “Court of Gold.”
In other news, Woods revealed on Tuesday that he recently underwent a successful procedure to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon in his left leg. The golf legend has been absent from PGA Tour competition since the 2024 Open last summer, and with the 2025 Masters just a month away, his return to the course remains uncertain.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods posted, CBS News reports. “This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon.
“‘The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,’ added Dr. Stucken. I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
