*In “Deli Boys,” Alfie Fuller brings intrigue and depth to the role of Prairie, a character whose presence adds another layer to Raj and Mir’s chaotic journey.
The series centers on spoiled Pakistani-American brothers Raj and Mir Dar who lose everything after their deli-tycoon father’s sudden death. The boys discover their father was more drug lord than businessman. After they are thrust into the criminal underworld by their formidable Lucky Auntie and her rival Ahmad Uncle, the brothers stumble from one disaster to the next, where every misstep could be fatal.
In this exclusive interview, Fuller shares insights into Prairie’s role in the story, how she navigates the show’s blend of crime and comedy, and what made this project an exciting challenge. She also reflects on working with the ensemble cast and why “Deli Boys” is a must-watch for audiences looking for something bold, fresh, and unexpected.
When asked about her character, Fuller describes Prairie as a free-spirited yet grounded presence in Raj’s life, even as she finds herself caught up in his turmoil.
“Yes. Okay. My girl Prairie, she is Raj’s girlfriend/shaman, holistic healer… guider. She’s kooky, but she’s just full of love. She just wants everybody to be well and be blessed. She fits into this chaotic life, not so well or easily at first. And then she finds herself swept up in it and has to make some tough decisions along the way.”

Confronting Betrayal
Each character in “Deli Boys” faces significant challenges, and Prairie is no exception. Fuller hints at an emotional journey for her character, particularly regarding trust and deception.
“I think she has to deal with thinking things are one way when they are a completely different one. And when that completely differentness is coming from the person that she loves and trusts…she’s dealing with that betrayal.”
The Magic of the Ensemble Cast
With “Deli Boys” featuring a cast full of bold and dynamic personalities, Fuller describes the creative energy on set as nothing short of exhilarating.
“It was a joy. I mean, it really was lightning in a bottle. I know everyone says it, but it really was. Everyone stepped into these roles so seamlessly. All the actors are just so giving of themselves and their time. If someone had an idea, everybody was game. We’ll try anything to elevate the story or help this character move along. It was so dope.”
Navigating Deli Boys’ Shifting Tones
The series masterfully blends crime, comedy, and drama, keeping audiences on edge. Prairie, however, experiences this whirlwind differently.
“Prairie is locked into her own little world. She is not really perceiving what’s happening around her, which is her blessing and her curse. So she’s actually not navigating these rocky waves that everybody else is, because she’s in her own river of calmness… until she’s not. And then things go a little bit haywire. And she navigates it as best she can, as we all do when life throws us curveballs.”
Fuller’s connection to Prairie extends beyond the screen. She sees elements of herself in the character, particularly in Prairie’s spiritual and holistic nature.
“I’ve been Prairie in other iterations of my life. I’m still a bit of her and I’m still very spiritual. I’m still very holistic. I’ve tried every single holistic practice there is out there. And when they come up with new ones, I’m going to try those too. I took from people that I know in my life who are witchy. I brought them into Prairie and the rest was on the page.”
A Series Full of Surprises
Fuller is most excited for audiences to experience the show’s unpredictability.
“I think that people are going to be surprised endlessly. Every episode, there’s a surprise. I think they’re going to be surprised by how much they love it and how much they want to watch it again. I hope they fall in love with these characters. I hope they realize what a privilege it is to see actors like this tell a story like this. I just hope they enjoy it and tell all their friends.”
