*Alex McCurry, a content creator and mom of three, has faced ongoing questions about her youngest daughter, affectionately nicknamed “Pudge Pudge.” The 3-year-old was born with blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, sparking speculation about her parentage.
McCurry, who is Black, shares three children with her White husband, Rob McCurry. Their older kids, Chub Chub, 8, and Bubba, 6, have darker complexions.
When Pudge Pudge was born via IVF, both Alex and Rob were surprised by her appearance. “I’ll be honest with you, one of the things I thought was somebody made a mistake,” Alex told PEOPLE. A paternity test confirmed Pudge Pudge was biologically theirs.

Once Alex began sharing family videos online, she started receiving numerous comments questioning whether Rob was the baby’s biological father. Some even suggested infidelity, to which Alex responded sarcastically, “I was like, yes, he cheated and got me pregnant with his cheating baby.”
Alex recalled one woman mistaking her for a nanny and another following her in a grocery store, suspecting she had stolen the child. “At first, my reaction was like, why would somebody steal a baby? Like, do you know how stressful it is to have kids?” she joked.
Despite these encounters, Alex remains focused on educating her children about their heritage and fostering pride. She teaches them about their Dominican and Irish roots and plays James Brown’s song “I’m Black and I’m Proud” to instill confidence.
Alex says her goal is to show that love, not appearances, defines a family. “I try to handle it with grace and patience because this is not the most common-looking kind of family, but at the end of the day, it’s none of anybody’s business,” she said.
