*Tamera Mowry’s Husband, Adam Housley is catching heat over his reaction to Trump’s Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins indicating that food stamp recipients might soon be restricted from purchasing junk foods.
“Truly, this program has grown so large, especially in the last administration. Under [President Joe] Biden, I think [the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program] grew almost 30% more than before. We really need to look at where that money is going, what it’s being spent on,” Rollins said.
“Do we have the healthiest choices? So when a taxpayer is putting money into SNAP, are we OK with us using their tax dollars to feed really bad food and sugary drinks to children who perhaps need something more nutritious?”
Housely, a former Fox News host, hit up social media to share his opinion on the matter.
“As a kid who grew up in neighborhood grocery stores since I was 5, I can’t tell you how many times I saw people come in and buy crap food for their kids with food stamps, then open the wallet and use cash for liquor, beer, wine and cigarettes,” Housely posted on X (formally Twitter).

“Then there were those who would repeatedly buy a lemon or lime, get the change, walk out the door throw them away and do it again. Until they had enough change to buy cigarettes or alcohol,” he added.
“As a kid it pissed me off because there are some people who could really use the help and then there are these others working the system,” Housely continued.
As excepted, folks ripped him a new one in the post’s comments, with one person writing, “So you just hung out in the corners of stores and observed grown ass people collecting change over time to buy cigarettes and alcohol…at 5yrs old. Just pulled up a seat and sat there watching folks. Just knew everything at 5yrs old.”
Another X user commented, “The system changed. You no longer get money back. And they paid cash for those items because they aren’t covered under benefits. But I guess poor people should never have anything enjoyable. And you grew up wealthy. You have no idea what it’s like to be on Assistance.
A third wrote, “Fitting that you reported for Fox News as you’ve picked up their love of lies and disinformation!”
Another critic added, “if the system was made to help people who need it, they wouldn’t have to “work the system.” mind you, you’re a millionaire in poor people’s business. you should not be allowed to comment on issues that do not affect you directly. because how will you know what it’s like?”
Do you think Housley’s comments were out of pocket? Sound off in the comments.
