*Aaron Pierre and Teyana Taylor are Hollywood’s newest it couple, but social media is putting the union under the microscope of doubt.
Sandra Rose notes the couple, who confirmed their relationship via public appearances together and social posts, were in full love mode recently when Taylor threw a surprise birthday party for her British beau on June 10.
Needless to say, Pierre appreciated the move as he thanked the Harlem-born singer / actress” with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
“Tey, Thank you! You put together a beautiful day. You are one of one. I appreciate you, deeply,” Pierre wrote in a post featuring intimate photos from his 31st B-day celebration.
Taylor and Pierre’s romance comes amid a good time for them. Taylor, who recently received the Apollo Theater’s inaugural Innovator Award, currently stars in the new Netflix psychological crime drama “Straw.” Pierre, who provided the voice of a young Mufasa in 2024’s Mufasa: The Lion King, will be part of the upcoming DC Universe television series “Lanterns” as the popular Green Lantern John Stewart.

Although Taylor and Pierre have warmed the hearts of bloggers and fans, their relationship is under a microscope with those who have pointed out signs of them being anything but a real couple.
Among the signs are five out of the 12 photos from Pierre’s party featuring Taylor as well as beliefs that the relationship is a publicity stunt. Throw in claims that Taylor is, as Sandra Rose noted from other commenters, “a card-carrying lesbian who is providing beard services to Aaron,” as well as Pierre having committed relations with a white woman and there you go.
“It’s a pr move to launch him in the states. Black British actors and singers always date black women in order to be accepted to US audience. Black audience is vital,” an X user wrote about Pierre and Taylor’s relationship.
