*Zendaya admits she is unsure when “Euphoria” Season 3 will begin production.
“If it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course,” Zendaya told Variety at the “Challengers” premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night. “But it’s beyond me.”
We reported earlier that “Euphoria” season 3 is anticipated to debut in 2025, following numerous delays since the airing of its second season in 2019.
HBO announced postponing the third season on March 25 but noted that series creator Sam Levinson is “committed to making an exceptional third season.”
According to Teen Vogue, season 3 of “Euphoria” has not started filming because it is still being written.
“In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety.
Meanwhile, in May 2023, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi shared updates about the progress of the “Euphoria” production.
“Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on The Idol, but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts,” Orsi told Deadline, according to Teen Vogue. “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam [Levinson], who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.”
Storm Reid, a member of the “Euphoria” cast, expressed optimism about Season 3’s eventual occurrence.
“I would hope the viewers, the audience will be able to finish the show,” Reid told Variety. “I think we should handle the show with care. We’ve put our hearts and soul into it.”
