Royal Caribbean Employee Arrested for Spying on Female Guests with Hidden Cameras | VIDEO

On February 25th, a woman traveling with her sister and mother aboard the Symphony of the Seas cruise ship discovered a camera in her bathroom, NBC News reports. The guest found the hidden camera when reaching under the sink for a toilet paper roll. The device was “affixed to the counter underneath the sink,” per the probable cause affidavit.

Following the response of ship security to the room, Arvin Joseph Mirasol, 34, an attendant responsible for cleaning cabins, was apprehended on March 3.

Mirasol, a citizen of the Philippines, was detained on the ship until it docked at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

On Mirasol’s USB stick, law enforcement discovered “numerous videos of naked females undressing” and a video of Mirasol installing a camera inside a passenger’s bathroom. Investigators also found child pornography after a thorough examination of his phone, an SD card, and a camera, according to the criminal complaint affidavit.

The filing said, “Mirasol revealed that he has been placing these cameras in the bathroom since he started working on Symphony of the Seas around December 2023.”

Mirasol allegedly told officers, “I want to control it, but I can’t,” the affidavit said.

Mirasol allegedly confessed to installing cameras in guest rooms to watch underage girls. He also intruded into rooms while women were showering, concealing himself under the bed and recording them unclothed with his phone.

NBC reports that Mirasol is charged with six state charges of voyeurism in Broward County. In the U.S. District Court of Florida, he faces charges of production and possession of child pornography.

Royal Caribbean said, “We have zero tolerance for this unacceptable behavior. We immediately reported this to law enforcement and terminated the crew member, and we will continue to fully cooperate with authorities.”
