Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., Usher Among Winners at Virtual NAACP Image Awards

*H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, and Usher were among the winners on the first night of the NAACP Image Awards during Monday’s virtual event. 

Khleo Thomas hosted the first night of the NAACP Virtual Image Awards show. The non-televised awards in other categories will be distributed in virtual shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, per THR.

We reported earlier that Queen Latifah is set to return as host of the 55th annual televised NAACP Image Awards, airing LIVE on Saturday, March 16, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on BET. She emceed the ceremony for the first time last year.

During Monday’s virtual event, Usher took home the award for outstanding male artist, H.E.R. won for outstanding female artist, and Megan Thee Stallion was named outstanding hip-hop/rap song for “Cobra.”

THR reports that other winners included Victoria Monét, Tems, Kirk Franklin, and Chris Brown.
