*Jury selection began Monday (01-22-24) in New York in the trial of two men charged with the murder of Run D-M-C’s Jam Master Jay.
Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan are charged with shooting the hip-hop pioneer — whose real name was Jason Mizell. It happened in 2002 at Mizell’s recording studio in NYC.
For years — his death lingered as a cold case — with witnesses reluctant to speak up. A third person — Jay Bryant — was also charged in the murder.
His lawyer successfully argued for his case to be severed from the other two.
All three have pleaded not guilty.
