*Caleb Williams, widely anticipated as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is addressing the viral attention surrounding his pink nails, lip gloss, and pink iPhone.
The football star drew widespread attention for his appearance while supporting his fellow USC athletes during the USC-Kansas women’s NCAA Tournament.
As cameras captured him dancing in his seat to Earth, Wind & Fire, fans took note of his pink-painted fingernails and his pink phone, sparking a frenzy on the Internet.

The quarterback responded to the chatter in a video posted to X Thursday.
In it, Gavin Morris, USC’s assistant athletic jokes to Williams, “It’s been a long week for you. Let’s see what that phone look like, what the phone look like?” Morris asked.
Showing the phone to the camera, Williams said, “The phone is pink, the case is clear.” He then held up his and added: “Nails are clear.”
“Lips are pink — your girl love ‘em!” Williams continued as Morris laughed. Watch the moment in the clip below.

Williams informed PEOPLE last August that wearing nail polish is simply a part of his personal style.
“I think the nails thing kind of took everybody by surprise,” he told the outlet. “I’ve been doing it before college, but it took everybody by surprise, just because you don’t always see male athletes who play football paint their nails. But I think it’s just another way of expression.”
