Will Packer: ‘I’m The Prince of Christmas’ with New Film ‘Dashing Through The Snow’ | EUR ExclusiveWATCH

Dashing Through The Snow” is the new Christmas film that introduces us to Eddie Garrick (Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges), an Atlanta social worker who lost the spirit of Christmas as a child and is currently going through a separation from his wife, Allison (Teyonah Parris).

Eddie is trying to spend quality time on Christmas Eve with their daughter, Charlotte (Madison Skye Validum), and win back his wife. A chance meeting with Nick (Lil Rel Howery) starts an adventure that has shades of “Home Alone” and other Christmas classics like “Miracle on 34th Street.”

The film was executive produced by Will Packer. He spoke with EUR about his love of the holidays and why he is the Prince of Christmas. Packer shared that although singer Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas, with his three-Christmas movie track record, he refers to himself as the Prince of Christmas.

“I will claim Prince of Christmas status because Mariah is clearly undefeated, right? But this is my third Christmas movie. I love the genre. I love the holidays. I love them personally. But I also love what they stand for and represent. I love the symbolism. I love that the holidays are when we can get together with our most important folks, family, loved ones, and friends. Hopefully, it’s a time of being grateful for receiving and giving to others and being thoughtful to others,” said Packer, who also produced “This Christmas” in 2007 and “Almost Christmas” in 2016.

“Hopefully, it’s a time where you can put behind you things that may not have gone right during the year,” said Packer. “But you can embrace the things that truly mean something important. And typically, those are the people. Those are the experiences. Those are the folks that are around us. So that’s, that’s why I love the Christmas movie. That’s why I love the genre. I’m excited about this because it’s the first time I’m doing a movie that is squarely centered on kids. I’ve done movies before in the Christmas spirit that were primarily about, you know, big ensemble families going through stuff.  Eddie, has some challenges he’s trying to overcome. And his young daughter helps him to understand that. But overall, the message is for kids: this is an amazing time of year; it’s a time of year when you can embrace all the good things about life. But your parents, your friends, your kids, your siblings, that’s what I hope people take from the movie.”

“Dashing Through The Snow” is currently available to stream on Disney+.
