Why it Made NO Sense for Taraji P. Henson to CRY Over Pay Unfairness While Promoting ‘The Color Purple’ | WATCH

*Attorney Antonio Moore discusses why it made NO sense for Taraji P. Henson to CRY over unfair PAY for acting while promoting “The Color Purple.”

Moore looks at the pay for Jonah Hill in “Wolf on Wall Street” with Leonardo DiCaprio for $60,000, and Jeff Daniels for co-starring in “Dumb and Dumber” for $50,000 in pay, while Taraji P. Henson got paid $150,000 for Benjamin Buttons with Brad Pitt.

During the promotion of “The Color Purple,” Taraji P. Henson stated this in an interview with Gayle King:

“I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do [and] getting paid a fraction of the cost,” Henson said. “I’m tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ Well, I have to. The math ain’t math-ing. When you start working a lot, you have a team. Big bills come with what we do. We don’t do this alone. It’s a whole team behind us. They have to get paid.”

Henson’s remarks prompted several Black actresses to chime in, with Gabrielle Union writing on X (formally Twitter), “Not a damn lie told. Not. A. Damn. Lie,” she posted about Henson’s interview with King, People reports.

Not only does Moore delve into Taraji P. Henson’s unfair pay issue, but the discussion also contextualizes it against the state of Black wealth. And the state of pay in Hollywood across all actors.
