*The Biden administration is catching heat over Jill Biden’s “tacky” White House Christman video featuring Black and transgender tap dancers.
The clip highlights performers from the New York City-based tap dance company Dorrance Dance, who channeled characters from The Nutcracker ballet. This year’s holiday theme at the White House is “magic, wonder and joy,” the Bidens stated.
“I don’t know how you feel, but I feel it’s just breathtaking,” the first lady said during an event unveiling the White House’s holiday decorations, per CBS News. “The holidays offer a time for reflection and a break from our hurried lives, a season to be fully present with our friends and our families.”
Jill Biden added, “Children have something to teach us, if we are wise enough to listen. How to remain present, even as a busy world beckons us. How to open ourselves up to love and wonder and to marvel at every moment, no matter how ordinary.”
The White House Christmas video amassed millions of views on X(formally Twitter), but many conservatives called it polarizing and a misuse of tax dollars.

Some people compared Biden’s footage to the holiday videos Melania Trump shared when her husband was president.
Meanwhile, Raw Story reports that conservative commenters are calling Biden’s Christmas video “grotesque.”
Salon’s Amanda Marcotte said critics were “stubbornly unwilling to offer any specifics about their objections.”
“MAGA has their reasons to beat around the bush, but that shouldn’t stop the rest of us,” she writes, per Raw Story. “Anyone with working knowledge of right-wing trigger points knows what fueled the outrage, and it’s not just a general right-wing aversion to fun.”
Marcotte said the complaints amount to nothing more than “plain bigotry.”
“The first smiling face we see in the video is a Black woman. Throughout the video, many of the dancers read as people of color and queer people. Plus, the music is jazz, not classical. We are apparently at that point in fascist development where they reject syncopated rhythms as decadent and emasculating,” Marcotte writes.
I find it rather ironic that the “ Democrats are trying to kill Christmas“ crowd are melting down, because Jill Biden produced a Christmas celebration video at the White House.

On X/Twitter, one critic wrote, “I think the saddest part about the White House Christmas decorations is that it completely ignores the birth of Jesus.”
Meanwhile, liberal progressives love the display of talented performers in Biden’s holiday clip. One person commented on social media, “Thank you for bringing Jazz and Tap dance to the Whitehouse this Holiday season! It’s a scary world right now, but a respite of two truly American art-forms invented in this country is a breath of fresh air.
