*The judge that Tyrese ripped into in a video posted online has ordered him to pay nearly $250K to his ex-wife, and nearly $400K to her attorney.
The actor/singer appeared in a Fulton County court Tuesday as part of his ongoing child support battle with ex-wife Samantha Lee Gibson. According to TMZ, the two are at odds over Tyrese refusing to pay the $10,000/month he was ordered to pay last August.
Tyrese posted a clip on Instagram Saturday (April 22) in which he called on Black fathers to help him push back against Judge Kevin M. Farmer who he claims is “racist” and biased against him.
Tyrese also asked Black fathers, the Nation of Islam, and civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump to meet him outside the courthouse “for a prayer on behalf of the family law courts system that someway, somehow tends to lean in the favor of the other side.”

Tyrese claims Judge Farmer privately called his ex-wife a “bitch” during a conversation with the star’s attorney.
“Now listen, we ain’t together no more, we have our share of issues,” Tyrese said in the video. “But I have never referred to the mother of my child as a bitch. To hear this man — this white man — on the bench, wearing a black robe, who is supposed to represent the law, to refer to my ex-wife and the mother of my child as a bitch… why is he still on the stand?”
He also revealed his legal team’s unsuccessful attempts to have the judge removed from the case.
“We tried to get him recused, we tried to get him thrown off the bench because of his conduct and his unprofessionalism. And then there were a bunch of things pertaining to the outcome of my case that he did that was literally illegal,” he said.
On Tuesday, the judge held Tyrese in contempt of court for his failure to pay the $10K/month — instead, he’s been paying $2,236/month, TMZ reports. Tyrese wasn’t arrested but the judge slapped him with an order to pay a total of $237,944 in back child support for daughter Soraya and $399K for Samantha’s attorney fees.
Tyrese’s attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham intends to file an appeal, TMZ reports. She filed a motion for a new trial that is scheduled for May.
