*After a quarter-century hiatus, Tony! Toni! Tone! makes a comeback to the music scene. The dynamic trio’s revival took center stage recently in North Carolina as they headlined the unforgettable “Raphael Saadiq Revisits Tony! Toni! Tone! Just Me and You Tour. With an electrifying performance, the R&B legends left a trail of delighted fans dancing and singing along to their timeless classics. 

Reunited And It Feels So Good

Tony! Toni! Tone! has made a triumphant return to the stage after more than 25 years apart. 

The talented trio performed at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts in Greensboro, North Carolina, as part of the “Raphael Saadiq Revisits Tony! Toni! Tone! Just Me and You Tour.” Their electrifying performance left fans dancing and singing along to their biggest hits.

The show opened with a captivating video projection paying homage to the band’s hometown of Oakland, California. The footage showcased the Civil Rights movement and highlighted notable Bay Area natives, including Vice President Kamala Harris, Huey Newton, Marshawn Lynch, and Too Short, among others. 

Tony! Toni! Tone! wasted no time and began their set with crowd favorites like “Little Walter,” “For The Love Of You,” and “If I Had No Loot.” The energy in the venue was palpable as fans stood up and danced in the aisles, fully immersed in the music.

Tony! Toni! Tone! makes a comeback – A Nostalgic Night To Remember

Throughout the performance, Raphael Saadiq, Dwayne Wiggins, and Timothy Christian Riley engaged with the audience, sharing anecdotes about their upbringing in Oakland and the gospel artists who influenced their musical journey. Saadiq specifically mentioned legendary gospel singer Al Green as one of his biggest inspirations.

As the lights dimmed,  the group took the audience on a journey through their greatest hits, including “It Never Rains In Southern California” and the touching love song “Anniversary.”  The soulful ballads continued with songs like “Dance Tonight” and “Ask of You.” The crowd passionately sang along during the pauses, showing their deep connection to the music. 

The concert also included a tribute to the late film director John Singleton, a close friend of Saadiq’s, who featured Tony! Toni! Tone!’s music in his movie Boyz N The Hood. The iconic R&B group performed one of the film’s songs, “Me and You,” as a heartfelt tribute.

The show concluded with a resounding performance of their iconic hit, “Feels Good.”  As the crowd offered a standing ovation, the three embraced on stage, expressing their gratitude to fans in the packed venue for their unwavering support.

The tour continues through Memphis, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles before culminating in San Francisco on November 17 for a sold-out final act.

Lauryn Hill Makes A Comeback 

Meanwhile, in other exciting music news, another legendary artist, Lauryn Hill, has embarked on a comeback tour. The influential rapper/singer is currently touring to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
