‘The Bachelorette’ (Charity Lawson) Talks Black Representation & Her #1 Must Have in A Man | WATCH

*With the advent of social media and immediate accessibility, it’s hard enough just to date one person successfully. So, to be in a much-coveted position of having a group of twenty-five eligible, handsome, and successful suitors, it sounds like things can get a bit exciting – and perhaps a little taxing, too. According to Charity Lawson, this 20th season’s “The Bachelorette,” insane is the word.

EURs Robin Ayers caught up with child and family therapist, Charity Lawson, to gain insight into her experience while shooting season 20 of The Bachelorette which aired Sunday.

“Day by day as I was filming, I was like, ‘am I dreaming?  No, this is very much my reality.’”

She continued, “truly, I have an exceptional group of men, truly exceptional.  All great looking, great careers, and for the most part, great personalities with a good purpose ahead of looking to find a wife.”

To no surprise, Lawson revealed that it was a switch going from casually dating in the real world to becoming the sole focus of twenty-five men’s attention.  Speaking of attention, one of the must-haves for the beautiful bachelorette is a man with confidence.

She shared, “not confident to where it translates to cockiness, it’s a very thin line that you tread, but, like a subtle confidence of where you’re in a room, especially in a room with twenty-four, twenty-five other men, are you still commanding attention?”

Equally important to finding the quality man of her dreams on the show, Lawson opened up about the representation of being a Black woman in her position.

“It just serves as a great reminder that we are deserving of our stories to be highlighted, to be shown as well.”
