*Webbies, we’ve got some interesting news about Oprah Winfrey and her efforts to help the victims of the Lahaina, Maui wildfire. Her camera crew was denied entry at a shelter for wildfire refugees “out of respect to those seeking safety.” She had attempted to bring a CBS crew inside a facility where survivors continue to struggle in the aftermath of the devastating fires that tore through Lahaina – which was denied, while she was allowed inside. In a statement, the County of Maui said: “Out of respect for those who have come to seek safety and shelter at emergency shelters, our policy remains that no media are given access. “We welcome Oprah to continue to uplift our community’s spirit and give her aloha to victims of the tragic disaster and appreciate her understanding of our policy of no camera crews or reporters in our emergency shelters. Mahalo.” The denial comes days after Oprah was filmed inside a shelter handing out supplies to survivors of the deadly fires that claimed 93 lives. Oprah passed out pillows to the victims. She also said she bought pillowcases, shampoo, sheets, and diapers. Oprah also has a home in Hawaii, so the devastation on the island hit close to home.

We have to sadly announce the passing of rapper Magoo, real name Melvin Barcliff, who transitioned on Sunday, August 13th, he was 50. Magoo made his mark on the music scene as a rap duo with renowned producer Timbaland. He also partnered with Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Devante Swing, Ginuwine, and Tweet, their group known as The Superfriends, aka Da Basement. We send his family and loved ones our sincere condolences.
