*R&B group New Edition announced dates for their upcoming Las Vegas residency starting in 2024.

New Edition: Las Vegas will kick off Feb. 28 at the Wynn Las Vegas Encore Theater, the AP reports

“We just caught lightning in a bottle,” said New Edition member Ronnie DeVoe.

“We’re looking to touch that stage and continue on with the legacy,” he added.

“This is going to more theatrical than our Legacy and Culture tours,” Bobby Brown said. “This will be a lot more intimate. We wanted it to be up, close and personal for our fans.”

The group, consisting of Michael Bivins, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, and Ricky Bell, hasn’t released an album since 2004 but has toured for the past couple of years, including two consecutive North American tours.

“We have each other, we have our health, we have our families. Everybody’s still here,” said Bell, per the AP.

“Our audience got a chance to see growth, bond, brotherhood,” Bivens said. “Sometimes that’s bigger than any record because people come to look for separation. But I think we’ll give them the glue.”

In the lead-up to their residency, DeVoe said the group will likely release new music.

“It makes sense,” he said. “I think it’ll be a great time to get in the studio and put our vocals on something new and fresh.”

Meanwhile, we reported previously that Bivins’ life story is unpacked in a new documentary on the streaming channel ALLBLK.

“The Hustle of @617MikeBiv” details the kid from Roxbury, Massachusetts’s Orchard Projects who dreamed of playing in the NBA, but, due to his popularity as a baller, was asked to join the legendary group New Edition.

“I did what I had to do, and I did it by any means necessary,” Bivins says in the trailer. “He was popular on his side and on my side of the projects,” Brown adds.

Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri, Doug E. Fresh, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Quincy Jones, Magic Johnson, and Russell Simmons also weigh in on Bivins’ journey to music stardom.
