*Music producer Mickey “Memphitz” Wright announced that he is set to star in a new dating reality series based in Atlanta.

He hit up social media earlier this week to post a flyer for the project to his Instagram Story, The Jasmine Brand reports. The announcement prompted criticism from women who recalled his abuse toward women, including exes K. Micelle and Toya Johnson-Rushing.

Memphitz and Toya were married from 2011 to 2016. The two appeared together on “Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars” and got into a heated argument, which resulted in him tossing food and screaming at her. The ex-couple decided to participate in the program to help repair their relationship.

At the time, he hit up Instagram to address his behavior, writing, “In Life, mistakes will be made & I’m kool with that. Not making the same mistakes twice is where I’m at with it these days. #marriagebootcamp… I never have & never will put my hands on any woman. #The End. ”

Meanwhile, K. Michelle talked about his abuse when she appeared on “Love and Hip Hop,” and the music producer subsequently sued her and series producer Mona Scott Young for defamation. According to The Jasmine Brand, Memphitz lost the case partly due to his admission that he and the defendant had a physical altercation.

When the hip-hop music executive appeared on “Iyanla Fix My Life” in 2018, he said his ex-girlfriend ruined his life with her abuse accusations.

“I felt like the world that I knew gave up on me,” Mickey said on the program. “I scratch and bite my way to the top … and then, all of a sudden, I was lied on. My ex-girlfriend ruined my life because I simply didn’t want to be with this person.”

Meanwhile, following the announcement about his new dating show, one social media user wrote, “… he beats everyone he dates but ok.”

Another said, “An abuser getting a dating show is wild.”

A third person added, “Which females will be on the show knowing his history?”
