*One of the season’s story arcs on “BMF” this season involves Detective Bryant (Steve Harris) and his new partner, Detective Jin (Kelly Hu).
Det. Veronica Jin is the daughter of Chinese immigrants. The secret emotional battles that she temporarily soothes with unhealthy vices, plus the pressure of being the only Asian woman on the Detroit police force in the 80s, leaves the audience with a compelling character to watch.
Throughout season two, viewers have been teased with the possibility of the two partners hooking up.
EUR spoke exclusively with Hu about the characters and where their relationship is headed in the explosive season finale set to air Friday (March 17).
Hu shared that although her character and Detective Bryant finally added the physical aspect to their relationship, it also brought more complications.

“She keeps discovering things that he’s concealed. And now she has become part of the scheme,” Hu explained. “She has reservations, but she’s realistic. She knows what he’s capable of.”
As for the season finale, Hu says viewers’ hearts will be torn apart, and they will choose between Bryant and Jin.
“There’s so much heart in this final episode. I reread episode 10, The finale, before starting Season Three to get back into that headspace and remember exactly what was going on, and it hit me just as hard as the first time I read it. There’s so much emotion, and I guess all of this can be justified when it’s all about family, right? It’s all in the name and not just for BMF but for Bryant as well. So I can’t wait for you guys to see what we have in store for the finale. It will not disappoint.”
