*And the hits just keep on happenin’. Of course, you already know about the Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawsuit filed by Cassie that got settled quick, fast, and in a hurry. Then, earlier today Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose was accused of a 1989 sex assault. Well, hold the presses ’cause Jamie Foxx has just been named in a new sexual assault lawsuit.
Here’s the deal. Foxx is being accused of a rooftop sexual assault that allegedly happened 8 years ago in NYC.
In the lawsuit, also filed today (11-22-23), we learned that Foxx was at Catch NYC & Roof in August 2015, around 11pm, when the plaintiff (Jane Doe) and a friend arrived and were seated in the rooftop lounge. Jamie was seated close by.
The plaintiff states that around 1 AM, her friend approached Foxx to ask him if he’d take a picture with her and (Jane Doe) who claims he said, “Sure, baby anything for you” … and, oh yeah, seemed intoxicated at the time.
As they were taking more snaps with Foxx, he said, “Wow, you have that supermodel body” and “You smell so good.” He then added that she looked like Gabrielle Union.
At that point, Foxx allegedly dragged the woman by the arm to a more secluded area, where he “placed both of his hands on Plaintiff’s waist, moved them under Plaintiff’s ‘crop top’ and began rubbing her breasts,” according to the suit. Jane Does claims she tried to get away and tried to get the attention of a security guard who saw her and Foxx but left the scene.
Wait. There’s more.
The lawsuit says: “Foxx proceeded to slide his hands into Plaintiff’s pants and put his fingers on and in Plaintiff’s vagina and anus.”
Whoah!
When Jane Doe’s friend walked over looking for her, at point Foxx stopped fingering her and walked toward the security guard.
The incident left the plaintiff injured, “sick, sore, lame and disabled,” the complaint says. She even had to seek medical treatment and was unable to resume her daily life while dealing with “great conscious pain and suffering” that still affects her.
The woman is also suing the restaurant for failing to protect her, knowing that Foxx allegedly became “badly behaved” when he was inebriated and that the bar personnel did not have proper training to spot his conduct and intervene. Straight up, Jane Doe’s complaint says, the restaurant “had knowledge of Foxx’s propensities for aggressive behavior towards females, the potential for unwanted sexual touching, and his bad disposition when consuming excessive alcohol.”
So what does she want? Compensatory and punitive damages. As of this posting, neither Jamie Foxx nor the restaurant had responded.
It’s also being noted that this rash of sexual assault lawsuits is coming on the eve of the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act, which opened a one-year window for adult survivors of sexual assault to sue their abusers, regardless of when the abuse occurred.
