*Social Media Personality Dr. Umar Johnson refuses to co-sign the debate about Eminem being one of the greatest rappers ever.

During Johnson’s recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, he discredits Eminem as the GOAT because he’s not Black.

“No non-African can ever be the best of anything African,” Johnson stated. “It’s an insult to the ancestors. It’s an insult to the race and it’s an insult to every Black person.”

“Do you think I can go to Palestine and be the best of anything of Palestinian culture? You never see that,” he continued. “You think I can go to Israel and be the best of anything in Israel whether it be a cook, an instrumentalist, a dancer? Hell no.”

“We have to stop naming non-African people as being the best of any aspect in our cultural product because it’s an insult,” he added.

His comments sparked a debate on social media among hip-hop fans who disagreed with Dr. Umar’s stance. One X/Twitter user wrote, “Eminem done more for hiphop and culture than most black rappers,” to which another person responded, “Most Black rappers? Lmao stop it, hip-hop would’ve been fine with or without Eminem. If you wanna get technical, Jimmy Iovine is the one who made the final decision when it came to signing those artists, did he do more for hip-hop than Black rappers?”

A third person added, “Black folks don’t gate keep enough.”

Another X user posted, “I judge black people that are Eminem fans.  All music opinions gets tossed out as soon as they add him to a top 10.”

During the podcast conversation, Dr. Umar Johnson got into a heated debate with co-host Antwan “Ish” Marby over the fact that Marby is a “bunny hopper,” meaning he dates white women.

“The reason you have no business being with a Caucasian woman is although she nor her family may have participated in our oppression directly, she benefits from it,” Umar said to Ish.

“I know she got racism in her veins because of the Portuguese role in the slave trade,” Johnson said of Ish’s girlfriend, who is of Portuguese descent.
