*Da Brat’s wife Jesseca Dupart has clapped back at reports that LisaRaye McCoy learned about the rapper’s pregnancy online like the rest of us.
Brat announced this week that she is expecting her first child at age 48. It seems podcaster Raquel Harper stirred up online drama when she reshared a clip from her 2022 interview with McCoy. In it, the actress said she found out via social media that her younger sister was expecting a baby with Dupart.
At the time, Brat and Dupart announced on Instagram that they were expanding their family and fans assumed Dupart was pregnant. The couple shared a photo of Da Brat hugging her woman from behind while gripping her belly.
“I know you grown, but dang. I wanna marvel in your happiness ’cause that’s what it’s about,” McCoy said in the 2022 episode of the “It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper” podcast, Page Six reports.

“I did see the reveal of them expecting and expanding their family and I didn’t know anything about it as well,” she continued.
“I do realize that when people grow up … even in this situation when you find a partner, you find a good thing and you’re supposed to cling to that partner. I get that. But it’s supposed to be also a bonus. It’s supposed to be an add-on, not a subtraction,” McCoy added.
Many believed Harper’s video was a new interview with McCoy but Dupart quickly made clear that the footage is old and related to the couple’s prior announcement on social media.
“THIS IS A LIE!,” Dupart commented when The Shade Room reported on Harper’s clip, Page Six reports. “Please check the date on this interview and the accuracy, this is just honestly not a good time as her mom just passed … Let’s keep Lisa Raye in our prayers,” she added.

Harper also confirmed via Instagram Story that her interview with LisaRaye was from several months ago.
“The interview I did with @therealraye1 is from months ago not today … I only posted because I thought it was from a story today and that my interview was just getting brought up from something currently,” Harper said.
