*On Sunday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Cynthia Bailey recalled the moment her marriage to Mike Hill ended.
“It’s like a happy sad,” admitted the 56-year-old model on the hit Bravo show, People reports.
After two years of marriage, Bailey and Hill, 52, announced they were splitting up in October 2022. As People reports, she previously described how their friendship led to the demise of their marriage.
“I felt like we weren’t friends anymore,” she said on the Two Ts in a Pod podcast. “I felt like it was just going toward we’re just not going to be friends if we didn’t pump the brakes.” That was her “final straw.”
Bailey added, “This is not my first rodeo. I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage. Like, love is great, but friendship has to be there. I truly want to be with my best friend.”
Meanwhile, Bailey claims she feels pressured to rush into dating after her second divorce.
She recently spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com about finding love again and said she “doesn’t have a lot of time” at her age.
“Well, for me, I definitely didn’t want to rush into anything. I definitely wanted to take the time to just really just sit with my divorce and new singleness and just be ready to start dating,” she explained.
“But the problem is I’m 56, so I don’t have a lot of time. I can’t sit around for a couple of years and have a hot girl summer at 60… I guess I could but that wouldn’t be my preference.”
Bailey, who was previously married to restaurateur Peter Thomas for seven years, added: “I kind of felt like, as in any breakup or divorce, a lot of times you start disconnecting and going through the breakup process before you actually break up. And that’s kind of what happened with me,” she explained.
