*A Brooklyn man won $10 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket for the second time in two years.
Wayne Murray first won the same amount in 2022 from a $30 Black Titanium ticket that he purchased at a gas station, Daily Mail reports. His latest win was via the 200X scratch-off game. For both wins, he opted for a lump sum payout of just over $6 million after taxes.
“Twice in a row — what are the odds?” Murray told the New York Post. “You can’t even think about it. It’s not comprehensible.”
Both winning tickets were purchased at the same gas station at 4102 Avenue H in Flatbush.
“It feels very humbling and liberating,” Murray told lottery officials following his August 2022 win, according to the Daily Mail.

“He’s a super regular guy here. He’s very friendly with the locals and very generous with his time. He could have moved out of the neighborhood after winning the first time, but he stood his ground. Money changes a lot of people, but he doesn’t show off or anything. He keeps it real, keeps it honest,” said a clerk at the store, WKRC-TV.
According to the news outlet, Murray plans to remain in his three-story brick house despite the massive fortune.
“That’s his house and will always be his house, even if he won the lottery a third time. He took care of his mother and his great aunt in that house until they both passed away. He’s all about family and his home and his neighborhood. He’s very special that way,” said one of his neighbors, Constance Bryane, per WKRC-TV.
“He’s a beautiful person, a humble person. He’s not flashy,” Bryane added.
“He just likes helping people any way he can. If people need a favor, he’ll go out of his way to do it,” she shared.
