*Raphael Saadiq revealed in a recent interview that Beyoncé‘s hit single “CUFF IT,” was supposed to be a Tony! Toni! Toné! record.

As Vibe reports, Saadiq co-wrote and produced the track, which earned him his second Grammy in February for Best R&B Song. The artist explained, “That record was going to be a Tonyies record, the part that just sounds like [mimics the ‘Cuff It’ guitar riff]. But I gave it to a friend of mine and said, ‘I got this record. I was going to do it, but what about Beyoncé?’”

Saadiq continued, “She’s one of those people where if she’s feeling it, she’s going 100 percent in. I said, ‘It’s going to move people. It’s going to work, I’m telling you.’ I think she just put it away. From what I heard, The-Dream eventually found it. And he was like, ‘What is that?!’ I already knew it was one of them joints. I always said, if you drop the right music on an artist, it could go, but I’m glad she has so many eyeballs on her, you know what I mean? You can’t really trick people, it’s got to be good. Beyoncé’s a hard worker. I told her, ‘I’ve always knew we would work together at some point.’ Like I said, it’s all about timing.”

Saadiq’s comments come as the Tony! Toni! Toné! reunion tour gets underway, according to Vibe.

“CUFF IT” appears on Bey’s “Renaissance” album and became her 21st top 10 single as a solo artist.

We reported previously that the global superstar is said to be in talks to bring her Renaissance World Tour to AMC Theatres.

According to Variety, “CAA held preliminary talks with major studios and streamers two weeks ago, another source added, urging the players to be ready to bid on a project the icon has been developing for years — one that would include elements of her top-grossing 2023 live shows, parts of the long-gestating visual album “Renaissance” and a documentary-style account of making the record and building out the tour (Blue Ivy Carter cameos surely to come),” the outlet writes.

The Renaissance World Tour is expected to gross close to $560 million in ticket sales.

As The New York Times reports, “Beyoncé will have generated an estimated $4.5 billion for the American economy by the end of the #RENAISSANCEWorldTour, about as much as the 2008 Olympics did for Beijing,” the outlet writes.

The Renaissance World Tour-film is expected to hit AMC theaters on Dec. 1, according to insiders, Variety reports.
