Van Lathan: Former TMZ Personality Joins Will Packer’s ‘Central Ave’ Show [VIDEO]

*Former TMZ producer Van Lathan has landed a new gig after he was fired from Harvey Levin’s popular news outlet.

Lanthan has been tapped by Will Packer Media’s multicultural entertainment news magazine Central Ave. The show announced the news on Twitter Friday, writing: “Van Lathan joins the Central Ave family!”

The tweet included a 40-second video of Lathan on assignment.

“Hi. I’m Van Lathan, special correspondent for Central Ave, here to talk to some real people about some real things,” he said.

As reported by Urban Hollywood, the clip showed Lathan interviewing folks about which celebrities are on their “cancel list.” Peep the clip above.

We previously reported, Lathan was let go from TMZ last month, following a dispute with fellow personality/star, Michael Babcock.

According to reports, the physical altercation was sparked by a debate over Ellen DeGeneres and former President George W. Bush spotted at a football game together.

Lathan and Babcock’s political argument went down during a taping of TMZ Live.

“We’d heard from sources that Lathan had put his hand around Babcock’s throat but didn’t publish the claim without evidence. But on Tuesday, pictures emerged clearly confirming that Lathan had gotten physical,” Page Six wrote (via NewsOne).

According to the outlet, after Lathan finished shooting, he “walked all the way across the room, came from behind [Babcock] and grabbed him.”

Allegedly, during the segment that was edited out, Lathan said “I’m going to speak now.” Babcock reportedly replied with, “You’re not telling me when I can talk and when I can’t.”

Latham is now the newest on-air personality at Central Ave, which airs on Fox Television stations in eight markets — New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Detroit, per Urban Hollywood.
