*Now this is the definition of a bad girl. OK, it’s one definition. And it’s a doozy! An 8-year-old girl from Bedford, Ohio, is home safely after taking her mother’s car on a bold adventure to a Target store, a journey that prompted her family and local police to search for her.

Zoe Wilson set off in her mother Tangie’s 2020 Nissan Rogue on the morning of September 15, triggering a frantic response from her family when they realized she was missing shortly before 9am.

The search for Zoe commenced after her family discovered she had vanished, last seen nearly two hours earlier. A neighbor came to the family’s aid by providing crucial footage from their Ring camera, revealing Zoe getting into the vehicle and driving away around 7 a.m. The sight of such a young girl taking off by herself raised alarms about her safety and well-being.

Local police immediately launched a search for Zoe, establishing a timeline of the situation. Officers from the neighboring town of Bainbridge played a pivotal role when they spotted the Nissan Rogue parked at a Target store, roughly 11 miles from the child’s home. Dashcam footage from a vigilant driver revealed the car weaving in and out of lanes, further emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the remarkable circumstances surrounding Zoe’s journey, reports Today.

Fortunately, the search ended positively when officers located Zoe inside the Target store, unharmed and in good spirits. Her family arrived shortly afterward to pick her up and reclaim the vehicle.

During the reunion, Zoe revealed that she had encountered an obstacle during her drive, admitting that she had hit a mailbox on her way to the store.

As the Bedford Police Department shared light-hearted commentary about the situation on social media, they noted, “Not sure what she bought or if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%,” adding a playful remark about allowing her to finish her Frappuccino before heading home.

This humorous take on the incident struck a chord with the community, showcasing the lighter side of this unusual event while also highlighting the importance of child safety.

Social media users responded with a mix of amusement and admiration for Zoe’s boldness. Comments on the police department’s post praised her adventurous spirit, with one user remarking:

“This is the best out of all the kids driving stories. Long distance and she got everything correctly.” Another chimed in, reflecting on their own childhood spirit: “Not gonna lie. That sounds like something my 8-year-old self would have done.”

Zoe’s adventurous spirit raised conversations about child independence, parental supervision, and community safety in humorous yet meaningful ways. While the incident may have ended without serious ramifications, it serves as a reminder for parents about the importance of securing vehicles and keeping a close watch on young children.

Ultimately, this lighthearted adventure in Bedford has turned into a heartwarming story of relief and laughter, allowing Zoe to recount her journey while reminding the community of the joy and unpredictability of childhood.
