Vick, the top pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, was at the height of his career with the Atlanta Falcons when he pleaded guilty to participating in illegal dogfighting in 2007, leading to nearly two years in prison. He played six seasons with the Falcons following his draft selection.
After his prison stint, Vick returned to the NFL in 2009 with the Philadelphia Eagles for five seasons. He went on to serve as backup for the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. He officially retired in 2017.
In 2022, the former NFL quarterback agreed to come out of retirement to join the startup league Fan Controlled Football. Vick joined a roster of high-profile players, inspired by the success of Terrell Owens and Johnny Manziel with the league.
