*Wendell Pierce had to leave Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday night in the Bronx after fans harassed him for talking to a Dodgers fan.
As reported by PEOPLE, the “Suits” actor is a supporter of both the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, he revealed on X that he missed the chance to witness Los Angeles secure the championship on October 30 due to fans throwing trash at him during the game.
“Unfortunately I just left the Yankees game because I was talking to a Dodgers fan and people were throwing things at me,” Pierce wrote, caling it the “The worst experience ever.”
“Unruly, obnoxious people can ruin everything,” he added. “The game and experience is of no significance now. The spirit of sports ends with the ugliness of humanity.”
In a follow-up post, Pierce added, “The fact that some suburban who ha’s come to Yankee stadium to act an a–, completely ruins the artistry of Cole pitching a no hitter into the 5th, or Freeman with a 4 game consecutive home run streak: both in the World Series. It will mean nothing to me because all I remember will be the obnoxious fans I had to avoid.”

In August, Pierce urged Black men to support Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election during his interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid at the Democratic National Convention.
“There’s blood on that ballot box. Remember those who died in the rivers of Alabama and Mississippi. For them, do the honor and vote,” Pierce, known for roles in “The Wire” and “Waiting to Exhale,” told Reid on the convention floor.
“Any Black man that has an issue with a Black woman rising, they have to look at their own inadequacy,” said Pierce.
“What would make you so fearful of someone who was so beloved of you, who was so loving to you, like your mother and your grandmother and your aunts and your sisters, that you cannot be proud and embolden yourself when you see someone from your community rise up?” he added.
Pierce highlighted the Biden-Harris administration’s $2 billion restitution to Black farmers affected by USDA discrimination, their investments in Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and efforts toward student loan forgiveness.
“If that’s not enough for you to vote for this campaign, why don’t you go to the other and hold up a sign behind him at a rally and tap dance – that’s what they want,” Pierce said.
