*Donald Trump’s supporters are upset that Amanda Seales claims the assassination attempt on the former president was staged.
Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and later stated that he was “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.” The 20-year-old shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed at the scene, authorities said.
Seales took to social media to share her thoughts on the assassination attempt. As The Jasmine Brand reports, in a now-deleted video on her Instagram, she said. “That was more staged than a Tyler Perry production of ‘Madea Runs for President.’”
She also noted that she “Lived in Harlem long enough to know gunshots do not sound like making popcorn on the stove.”
The actress/comedian further suggested that blood pellets were used to exaggerate Trump’s injuries.
“Where did the blood come from? In theater, in movies, they have what’s called blood pellets,” she explained. “People use them on Halloween. It’s basically a pellet of fake blood in your mouth, and when you crush it, the blood comes out.”
Seales also noted that if the assassination attempt were genuine, Trump “would not respond by raising his fist in the air triumphantly.”
According to The Root, after catching backlash online, Seales walked back her initial comments after sharing a video that appears to show the shooter, saying, “Turns out it was real.”
Meanwhile, Trump supporters are calling for her to apologize.
DJ Akademiks also reacted to Seales in a live video stream. “Like some of y’all are so glued into whatever political view y’all have, y’all dismiss reality,” he said. “B*tch, wake up. There’s a f*cking whole investigation by the FBI outside in Butler. Drive over there and go see if they’re investigating staged sh*t.”
