*We caught up with director Tim Reid to dish on his latest project, Lifetime’s original movie “Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall.”
Starring Robin “The Lady of Rage” Allen, Shane Johnson, and Ian Bohen, the biopic delves into the dramatic pop culture journey of Youree Dell Harris, better known as Miss Cleo. Set against the backdrop of the late 1990s, the show explores how Harris, a single mother, became a cultural icon through her role at the Psychic Readers Network. However, her success was marred by allegations of fraud against the network, leading to a tumultuous battle to clear her name.
As we reported earlier, Miss Cleo called herself a voodoo priestess and regularly appeared on the Psychic Readers Network, where she gained a cult following. She became especially famous for her trademark line “Call me now!” which she uttered with a Jamaican accent.
“Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall” explores the many layers behind this complicated and charismatic figure, according to the news release.
