*No matter how good a rapper he is or how hard his image paints him to be, The Game’s past as a stripper will forever put a cloud over whatever highs he has on his personal and professional highlight reel.
And he has none other than his grandfather to thank for it.
Flashback to 2006 and Game was generating talk for his debut album “The Documentary” and feuding with 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew. Amidst the highs and drama came chatter about Game being a stripper. Adding fuel to the rumor, 50 Cent released his mixtape “G-Unit Radio Part 21: Hate It or Love It. The project is noted for including a photo of Game in a strip club wearing a G-string.
Although 50 maintained that Game was once a stripper who performed under the name “Doja,” Rolling Out noted the denial from fans who labeled the G-Unit leader’s claims as nothing more than an unfounded attack.
Enter Hodari Sababu, Game’s stepfather.
Chatting with Pitchfork TV, Sabadu backed up 50’s allegations, giving fans confirmation straight from someone who knows Game well enough to share that the “This How We Do” rhymeslinger once worked for him as an exotic dancer.
“Me and Game’s mom started a male exotic club,” Sababu confessed. “We used to get guys that came fresh out of jail, they were buffed up and needed money. A lot of these guys can’t go and fill out an application and get a job but hey, if they look good, they have been working out we put ‘em on, man.”
“Jayceon danced there maybe twice and 50 Cent will not let him forget it,” Sababu added. “Somehow somebody got pictures of him dancing in that club with his g-string on and boy boy boy … Whether he likes it or not, I tell him the truth. Because just like most people that achieve a certain amount of fame and fortune … that comes with the a– kissers. They’re around all the time to say you’re the greatest thing because most of them are on the payroll. But fortunately — or unfortunately — I’m not on the payroll so I can tell you exactly what I think.”
Wait. There’s one person who can speak on Game’s past as a stripper. That would be Compton’s Lonzo Williams who also worked with the rapper’s mother put on male exotic dancers/strippers. Check out the video below for Lonzo’s take.
