*JAY-Z is celebrating his legacy with the release of “The Book of HOV: A Tribute to JAY-Z,” a coffee table book launched on his 55th birthday, December 4.
Inspired by the 2023 Brooklyn Public Library exhibit honoring his career, the book explores his journey from Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects to becoming a cultural icon, highlighting his artistry, entrepreneurship, and activism, Vibe reports. Featuring nearly 700 images and essays, the release includes a Special Limited Edition designed with artist Daniel Arsham.
The book “details the pillars of Shawn Carter’s influence, from his artistry and craft to his entrepreneurship and activism,” reads a press release. According to Vibe, a portion of the proceeds from Limited Edition sales will be donated to the Brooklyn Public Library.
“It’s an absolute honor to bring this exhibit to life and highlight Jay’s unprecedented impact on music, culture, business, philanthropy and society,” Roc Nation co-founder and vice chairman Jay Brown told Variety of the exhibit. “He leveraged his artistic genius to ascend heights that were previously unimaginable. The exhibit is a testament to JAY-Z setting a blueprint for the leaders of tomorrow to follow.”
The “The Book of HOV: A Tribute to JAY-Z” is available in Assouline’s Classics and Ultimate collections. The classic edition costs $120 while the “ultimate” version sells for $2,000.
