*During her appearance on The Breakfast Club on October 2, Stephanie Mills discussed the challenges of dating, stating that men prefer younger, light-skinned women.

The 67-year-old singer explained that she found her confidence at the age of 55, but she hasn’t been able to lock down a loyal man or life partner.

“When I turned 55, I was like, I’m doing what I want to do and don’t care what anybody thinks,” Mills said during the broadcast, The Jasmine Brand reports.

She added,  “I’m not dating. I’m a very independent woman, and I don’t like knuckleheads. Men have a lotta game with them. I’m not gonna play any games. I think even if they have another woman or another situation, I think they should be honest and most men are not honest.”

Mills also pointed out that men in her age range prefer to date younger women.

“OGs like young girls; they don’t like girls like me. They like them young girls, and most men like high yellow women… they don’t like dark women,” the superstar said.

Mills has been married three times and she’s not currently dating because she doesn’t want to deal with men who play games. She said her ideal partner is a businessman, “but they’re knuckleheads too,” she added.

As ESSENCE reports, Mills’ first husband was Jeffrey Daniel, who she married in 1980. Her second husband was actor Dino Meminger and her third was Michael Saunders, whom she wed in 1993.
