*The Regional Cal Black Chamber of the San Fernando Valley (RCBCC) kicked off the summer of 2024 with a power-packed business summit at the Orchard Conference Center on the beautiful campus of Cal State Northridge. After a warm welcome by RCBCC President M.C. Townsend, opening remarks were given by Dr. Chandra Subramaniam, dean of David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at Cal State Northridge.
US Bank VP and Business Access Advisor Delphine Pruitt and her team provided insights on leveling up business ecosystems, finance opportunities, acquisition, mortgages and more. James Brady is a Moringa Tang Ambassador and he shared why he is passionate about Moringa Tang as a health supplement and growing business enterprise.
Other featured presenters included Greg Reed, Senior Assistant General Manager for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Los Angeles Department of Water & Power and Somone Washington CEO of Kiasi Tech Solutions, a digital literacy training company, in addition to Edwin Lombard, II (ELM Strategies) who presented on taxpayer and small business protection.
The Regional Cal Black Chamber SFV president Townsend is on a mission to provide a platform that turns contacts into contracts.

The day included networking, educational seminars and a Juneteenth celebration. Member recognition and awards from Mayor Karen Bass’ office and the office of LA City Councilmember John Lee (12th District) went to LaRita Shelby (Shall Be Productions & SB Media), Tyrone Rodgers (Security Services) Jose Beltran (WPS Events), James Brady (Moringa Tang, Inc.), Saava Karim (Bantufest, Inc.) Francis Williams (Ladies of Justice), Ruth Flemming (Flemmings LLC), and Aaron Akins (20th Century Jazz).
Corporate Appreciation and Recognition was awarded to Gregory Reed (DWP), Optimum Seismic, Delphine Pruitt (US Bank), Southern California Edison, Roberto Barragan (Icon CDC), Square, Shoshana Payne Phillips (LA Voix Studio), So Cal Gas, Charter Communication, Community West Bank and Clear Channel Outdoors. Special guest performers included Gloria Hendry (James Bond Live and Let Die) and The Dynamic Duo (Pam and Hollywood) among others.
