The Pulse of Entertainment: Soul-man MAJOR Releases ‘I Prayed For You’ Single Off His ‘Hope of My Soul’ EP | VIDEOs

MAJOR's I Prayed For You // Major Finley
Major releases ‘I Prayed for You’ off his ‘Hope for My Soul’ EP.

*“The EP has fewer tracks…the deluxe has those and additional tracks,” said Grammy-nominated Major (Major R. Johnson Finley) about his recent release “Hope of My Soul” (EP and Deluxe EP). “The deluxe has remix versions of the singles.”

The current single is “I Prayed For You (Said a Prayer)” (NowThatsMAJOR Music Group/MNRK Music Group). The platinum-selling singer/songwriter’s music video to this single premiered on BET Network on November 13, 2024.

“My momma named me Major,” he told me with a slight laugh when I mentioned all the “major” moves he was making. “She wanted it clear! That’s why I write my name in all caps (MAJOR).”

She spoke it into existence because MAJOR continues to do big things in entertainment. Aside from his Grammy nomination, he has also garnered two Soul Train Awards and eight NAACP Image Awards.

MAJOR has a weekly podcast “The Hope in Between” (Wednesdays) and operates the MAJOR Hope Foundation.

“I’m from the church,” he said when I mentioned how soulful his voice is. “I’m a gumbo of that goodness. That’s where I draw my faith from…love…working together.”

“Prayer still works,” MAJOR said when talking about what we are to get from the current single. “Our very existence is evidence of prayer.”

As we ended our interview MAJOR shouted out to me, sounding so full of happiness, “I have a new Christmas movie “A Heart for Christmas!” It will be on Roku (and other streaming networks) as of  November 15!”
