*Loni Love took to Instagram to make clear that there is no feud between her and Tyler Perry after she suggested the movie mogul hire Black writers and directors.
We reported previously that Love accused Perry of not investing in Black writers and directors, arguing that he could create award-worthy projects if he were more generous with his resources.
“I love that Tyler is paying Black actors now I wish he would hire Black writers and directors that have experience to help him with his movies,” Loni wrote on X/Twitter.
She added, “He could improve the movies & make them award worthy if he would stop trying to save money by doing the writing and directing himself.”
Her comments were in response to the poor reception of Perry’s latest project “Divorce In The Black,” starring Meagan Good and Cory Hardrict.

Perry responded to the criticisms on a recent episode of Keke Palmer’s podcast “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.” The filmmaker explained why he ignores negative remarks. He emphasized that he values the positive impact his films have on people’s lives more than any criticism.
“You got to drown all of that out because if you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in hell,” said Perry, Complex reports.
“I know for a fact that what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing because for everyone who is a critic, I have thousands of emails from people saying ‘This changed my life.’ ‘Oh my God, you know me.’ ‘Oh my God, you saw me, how did you know this about my life, my family?’ So that is what is important to me.”
Perry continued, “We’re talking a large portion of my fans who are disenfranchised who cannot get in the Volvo and go to therapy on the weekend. So you got this highbrow Negro who is all up in the air with his nose up looking at everything, and then you got people like where I come from and me who are grinders who really know what it’s like whose mothers were caregivers for white kids and were maids and housekeepers and all of these beauticians. Don’t discount these people and say that their story don’t matter. Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important or should be told. Get out of here with that bullshit.”
According to Ice Cream Convos, some blogs reported that Loni said, “You’ll never see greats like Denzel, Halle, Morgan, or Will in a Tyler Perry film.”
She to Instagram to slam the reports. Watch what Loni Love had to say in the clip below.
