*Lenny Kravitz is welcoming fall with a nod to his iconic 2012 meme featuring his massive scarf.
In a recent Instagram clip, the 60-year-old rock star is sporting the viral oversized knit scarf. He shared a similar shot on TikTok in 2023.
“I live in the Bahamas, I’m used to hot weather, and I had to go to the store. I was buying some groceries, and I thought I’d put on a little scarf to protect my throat, and that’s the scarf I had,” Kravitz said in 2018 about the scarf while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Messenger reports.
“Hey, the guy who made that scarf — who you can blame this on — he made that scarf and he gave it to me and that was the day I thought I’d break it out. I had no idea that there would be [photographers] and that is now everything,” he continued, Us Weekly reports.
In a 2020 interview with GQ, Kravitz reacted to the viral memes of the scarf.

“Okay, the scarf is big, but the internet has made the scarf enormous. You look at some of those [images] and it’s just like, ‘Okay guys, the scarf is three times bigger than it really is in this picture,’ but it was big and it was cold,” Kravitz said.
“It’s funny to see, especially on Halloween. People either do the Lenny Kravitz look — the onstage look — or they do the scarf,” he continued. “And it’s funny, I saw some pictures yesterday of this little kid who did the whole thing perfectly down to the plastic bag coming from the grocery store.”
In Lenny’s IG video, he walks toward the camera wearing the scarf while saying, “Grab your big scarf, it’s the first day of fall.”.
He captioned the Sunday, Sept. 22 post, “Here we go again… ”
In the post’s comments, one fan wrote, “He is the Mariah Carey of Fall.”
Another wrote, “The king of autumn has spoken.”
A third person added, “Never been jealous of a scarf before, but here we are.”
