*Lamar Jackson’s mother cussed him out after Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles for not running more and not hitting the running lanes.
Fans say he had a quiet rushing performance in the Baltimore Ravens’ 24-19 loss to the Eagles, with most of his 79 rushing yards coming late in the game. Afterward, his mother, Felicia Jones, criticized him for not leaning on his strengths. As Outkick reports, “Jackson is known for using his legs almost as much as he uses his throwing arm,” the outlet writes. Heading into the bye week, Jackson promised to step up and make his mom proud moving forward.
“My momma just told me that. She just cussed me out,” Jackson told reporters after the game.
“I’m mad. We’re going to get after it. I’m not going to lie to you, we’re going to get after it. I can’t wait for this bye to get on. We got the Giants coming up, I’m ready to go,” he added. “She said there were lanes I should have taken and ran. I was just trying to let guys develop routes. We had developing routes. I was just trying to go through my progression, but yeah, she [was] right.”
Despite Jackson throwing for 237 yards and two touchdowns, the Ravens couldn’t overcome the Eagles, who secured their eighth consecutive victory.
“That was a pretty good team, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like we left stuff out there,” Jackson said. “We should have put more points on the board.”
