*Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Not Like Us” is making history on another level, with a longstanding grip at the top of Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.

Billboard reports the tune, released May 4, has spent 21 weeks at No. 1 on the rap songs chart, moving past Lil’ Nas X’s 2019 Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted “Old Town Road.” The achievement puts “Not Like Us” in its own lane, with it spending the most weeks at the top since the Hot Rap Songs chart launched in 1989.

In addition, Billboard notes “Not Like Us” reached chart-topping longevity via streaming, sales, and radio airplay.

On the Rap Streaming Songs chart, the song holds at No. 1 in its 20th week, with 17.1 million official U.S. streams in the latest tracking week (Sept. 27 – Oct. 3), according to Luminate. As a result, it ties with “Old Town Road” as the third-longest stream on the chart, behind Desiigner’s “Panda” and Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” which share first place, at 23 weeks on top of the Streaming Songs chart.

In the sales realm, “Not Like Us” registered 2,000 downloads in the tracking week. Despite a 10% decline from the week before, it elevated from No. 4 to. No. 3 on Rap Digital Song Sales, a list it previously ruled for nine nonconsecutive weeks.

Looking at the all-genre Radio Songs chart, Lamar’s lyrical slaying repeats at No. 7, with suffering a 3% decline with 45.4 million in total audience impressions. The shift is notable, in light of “Not Like Us” dominating the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart this summer, with 15 nonconsecutive weeks at the top.

“Not Like Us is one of a slew of diss songs Lamar unleashed during his feud with Drake. The track, which came less than 14 hours after his previous diss, “Meet the Grahams,” takes the “God’s Plan” MC to task over alleged inappropriate sexual behavior with minors, in addition to his cultural identity.

On May 18, 2024, the song, with 70.9 million streams, five million radio airplay audience impressions, and 15,000 copies sold, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Not Like Us” is certified proof of Lamar’s recent near dominance on top of the Hot Rap Songs chart. Coupled with a six-week reign from his Future and Metro Boomin’ collaboration “Like That,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning rhymeslayer occupied the top position for 27 of the last 28 weeks. The exception was Eminem who took the high point for one week in June with “Houdini.”
