*Halle Berry’s ex-husband Olivier Martinez is making their intent to peacefully co-parent their son an uphill battle, according to the “B.A.P.S” star.
Sandra Rose cites a new court filing from Berry that alleged Martinez failed to show up to co-parenting classes for Maceo, their 9-year-old son.
Court documents obtained by People note an agreement reached by the former couple, who finalized their bitter divorce in August 2023. The agreement highlighted Martinez’s willingness to attend a co-parenting class with a coach to “resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent” Maceo. However, Berry claims the French entertainer was a no-show for the scheduled meeting with the co-parenting coach.
In her eyes, Martinez “unilaterally terminated” coaching sessions without telling her or the coach. Rather than put in the time for the class, Berry alleged Martinez opted to go on a vacation in France for the summer.
The “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” fixture pointed out that Martinez “has chosen to repeatedly violate agreements and court orders with careless regard,” adding that his alleged “conduct harms” Maceo and his “already strained relationship” with Berry.
To add more weight to her claims, Berry brought her boyfriend Van Hunt into the mix, saying Martinez’s “lack of acceptance” of the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, is preventing them from creating “a healthy environment” for Maceo.
“Olivier’s conduct has resulted in several areas that concern me greatly,” the “X-Men” film series cast member said in the filing. Berry’s one major concern, she voiced, was “Olivier’s continued refusal to accept my relationship with [boyfriend Van Hunt], who plays an important role in Maceo’s life.”
Although she asked the court to force Martinez to attend at least one more meeting with the co-parenting coach, Berry’s allegations were met with unsympathetic ears.
Judge Shelley Kaufman denied the acting veteran’s request on Aug. 1, citing “lack of exigent circumstances,” People mentioned On the list of urgent matters, Berry’s case ranked low for the justice, who summed up the Oscar winner’s request as not urgent or an emergency.
