*Floyd Mayweather Jr. was attacked by a large mob while shopping for jewelry in London on Monday.
Despite being surrounded by security, the mob chased him to his SUV, where several men punched him in the face. Cell phone footage captured the incident, with social media posts suggesting the mob’s anger was related to Mayweather’s support of Israel.
The boxing champ was able to escape in his vehicle while the mob hurled insults at him. Watch the moment via the X/Twitter clips below.
Mayweather issued a statement on his Instagram to clarify the incident.
“Let me set the record straight…there’s no truth to the rumors going around. I wasn’t punched or touched in any way,” he said.

“What you’re seeing is just my security doing their job to keep things under control,” Mayweather continued. “I was in the UK for a quick 48-hour stop to do some shopping, and unfortunately, some people let jealousy and negativity fuel false stories. I’m perfectly fine, and there’s really nothing more to it.”
Mayweather has faced accusations of supporting Israel amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, with his alleged attackers in London believed to be anti-Israel.
