*A flight attendant from American Airlines, Ally Case, shared essential travel tips in a viral TikTok video.
As MadameNoire reports, Case advised against displaying personal information, like your name, home address, and phone number, on luggage tags for safety reasons. Instead, travelers should flip their luggage tags backward and write “flip over” to direct airport staff to the information.
Case also suggested using tracking devices, such as Apple AirTags, to locate lost luggage. AirTags utilize Bluetooth to connect with nearby iPhones in the “Find My” network, offering precise tracking.
Android users can use Chipolo’s new tracking devices, the One Point and Card Point, which work similarly through Google’s “Find My Device” app.
Additionally, Case recommends booking the earliest flight (red eye) of the day to avoid delays and cancellations. If issues arise, flying early provides more options for rebooking later in the day. Hear more of her travel tips in the two TikTok clips below.
@allycase1 One of my top travel safety tips 🙌 I don’t even like strangers to know my name — no chance am I going to have my phone number and home address on display!! #travelsafety #safetraveling #traveltips #safetytips ♬ original sound – Ally Case
“I cannot tell you how many people I see, on a daily basis, with their information displayed for anyone to see,” the flight attendant shared.
“I don’t even like strangers to know my name,” she told her over 150,000 followers on TikTok. “No chance I’m going to have my phone number and home address on display.”

@allycase1 The early bird catches the worm 🐦🐛 If you can, opt for the first flight of the day!! There’s a TON of pressure on airlines to get the first flights out on time every morning, to every destination. Airplanes are reused throughout the day, all across the world, and those first few flights (whether on time or delayed) set the tone for the rest of the day. The domino effect is real 😅 #airlinetips #airporthack #airlinehack #traveltips #travelhack #flightattendant ♬ original sound – Ally Case
