*Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs could be sentenced to up to life in prison if he is ultimately convicted on federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Since his arrest in September, he has been held at Brooklyn’s MDC jail and denied bail twice due to being considered a flight risk.
Ahead of Thanksgiving, Diddy submitted a new bail proposal that reportedly includes a $50 million bond backed by equity in his and his mother’s Florida homes, 24/7 monitoring by approved security personnel, and additional restrictions, The Blast reports. These include no internet or phone access except for legal meetings, a pre-approved visitor list limited to select family members, and the surrender of all passports, including his family.
In a court filing on Monday, Combs’ legal team cited a ruling from Trump’s election interference case to emphasize the First Amendment’s protection of free speech.
“Only a significant and imminent threat to the administration of criminal justice will support restricting Mr. Trump’s speech,” the lawyers noted, per the Daily Mail.
They also argued that the disgraced music mogul has “a greater constitutional claim than other trial participants…to speak out against the prosecution and the criminal trial process that seek to take away his liberty.”
Diddy’s attorney urged the court to apply “Trump’s heightened standard when considering Mr. Combs’ speech here.”
Meanwhile, we reported earlier that Ray J doubts the validity of the “Freak Off” stories surrounding Combs.
In an interview with Chris Cuomo, the singer/entrepreneur was asked about Diddy’s mounting legal woes and numerous accusations of sexual assault by women and men, Vibe reports. Combs has denied all accusations against him as he awaits a trial that starts earlier in 2025.
Ray J expressed skepticism about the allegations, specifically Diddy’s “Freak Offs,” and suggested that no “A-list celebrity” had ever heard of these kinky, drug-fueled parties.
“Is any of it real? Or how much of it is real? I think that’s where we are now because they just keep piling on,” he stated on Cuomo’s primetime news show. “Now everybody is starting to feel weird about it..like it’s one-sided against one man. And people aren’t liking it.”
