*The latest film in Will Smith’s and Martin Lawrence’s “Bad Boys” film series is going the digital route into people’s homes.
Citing When to Stream, Netflix Junkie reports the hit action comedy invaded digital streaming via premium video on July 23.
Despite the reveal, the site further mentioned that no streaming service has laid claim to being the place for movie viewers to catch the blockbuster.
Released on June 6, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” features the return of Smith and Lawrence as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnet. The latest “Bad Boys” chapter finds the sleuths coming to the aid of their Captain, Captain, Conrad Howard, to clear his name after he is falsely accused of conspiracy.
Returning for the new adventure are “Bad Boys” series fixtures Joe Pantoliano (Captain Conrad Howard), Paola Núñez {Miami Police Department Captain Rita Secada), Alexander Ludwig (AMMO tech expert Dorn), Vanessa Hudgens (AMMO weapons expert Kelly), John Salley (paroled hacker Fletcher), Jacob Scipio (Lowry’s illegitimate son Armando Aretas) and DJ Khaled (Manny the Butcher).
Newcomers to the “Bad Boys” universe include Tasha Smith, who played Marcus’ wife. The character was previously portrayed by Theresa Randell in the previous “Bad Boys” films. Since its release, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” has emerged as a certified hit, taking in $365 million at the box office.
In addition to its impressive run in theaters, Netflix Junkie notes the film’s role in moving Smith past the backlash from his infamous slap to Chris Rock at the 2024 Oscars and mixed reviews of his dramatic turn in the 2022 feature, “Emancipation.”
