*South Carolina junior standout Ashlyn Watkins had her third career dunk during the first quarter during Sunday’s game against the TCU Horned Frogs.

As Essentially Sports reports, Watkins made headlines during an 81-70 win over No. 9 TCU, delivering a standout dunk that helped South Carolina dominate TCU with a 44-23 halftime lead while shooting 56%. Watch the moment via the YouTube clip above.

“She actually was at shootaround today dunking and missing, and then she makes a play like that,” coach Dawn Staley said, per The AP.

“She cleared her runway, she got to the left side of the floor, and I knew she was going to attempt it,” she continued. “The place exploded, our bench exploded. And I think it’s great for our game.”

Watkins’s dunk challenged Shaquille O’Neal’s controversial suggestion to lower WNBA rims to encourage more dunks. Her

Meanwhile, O’Neal used Caitlin Clark as a case for lowering WNBA rims during his recent appearace on Angel Reese’s podcast.

“A pretty girl dunking on the rim? I’m watching that all day,” Shaq said to the Chicago Sky superstar on her “Unapologetically Angel” show.

He added, “Why you think people love Caitlin Clark? Besides her skills?”

“She can shoot threes from logo,” Reese responded.

“We never seen that before. That’s my point,” the NBA icon said. “She’s doing stuff we’ve never seen before. [I’ve] never seen nobody [shoot logo threes] on a consistent basis. There’s a lot of girls in the WNBA that have done it in spurts, but that game I’m watching y’all in the Final Four, I’m like ‘Damn.’

“And I was a hater, cause you know I’m down with you, like, ‘She’s not gonna hit that shot.’ And then, bam, she hits the shot,” Shaq said of Clark before suggesting the WNBA lower the rim. Watch the X/Twitter clip below.
